‘Solo Together’ is a book of twelve beginner pieces that are based on a variety of musical styles: blues, reggae, jazz, folk, latin and flamenco. Each piece has two versions: a single line melody, and a developed solo of this melody. Both versions can be performed as a duet or as a solo and chord symbols have been added to provide scope for creating accompaniments. ‘Solo Together’ provides out a broad range of techniques that are particularly useful for those that are motivated by a popular-song, strummed chord approach to learning. The pieces are conceived for the pick or plectrum style guitar but work just as well with a fingerstyle technique.
